- Guided tour, exhibition, and information about activities in the activity house Mästeriet. Mästeriet is a unique meeting place in Växjö that brings together social enterprises, non-profit associations, groups, and private individuals under the same roof. Here you have the opportunity to visit the various organisations and be inspired by their non-profit work and way of thinking. In Mästeriet, in addition to Globala Kronoberg's operations, there is, among other things, a small animal farm for rescued animals, a non-profit TV channel run by and for the residents of the region, Funkibator association that works with national advocacy work around disability issues and Sweden's only children's book publisher with a focus on inclusion and disability.
12.00-13.15:
Workshop 1 + visit from The Swedish National agency
- Visualization of future & vision board creation: The participants will get to attend a brief training session where they will be prompted to see themselves in the future, 8 years forward. They will have to individually imagine what it will look like, how they themselves will look like, who will be surrounding them, and what they will be feeling. After the introspection, they will have the chance to materialise their vision by creating a collage with any artistic material of their preference: from pamphlets, magazines, crayons to stamps, glitter, and pictures. When they are done, they can choose to either display their crafts or take them home as a souvenir or reminder.
13.30-15.00: Walk to the city Centre, Lunch at Kafe Deluxe
15.00-17.00:
Study visit to Utvandrarnas hus (House of Emigrants):
- The participants will get to explore the Nordic region’s largest institute focusing on Swedish emigration to North America in the 19th and 20th century. The exhibitions at the museum present the state of Sweden and the whole of Europe prior to the huge immigration movement, as well as the whole journey to the new continent and the aftermath of it. The participants will get to watch short films and read personal testimonies and letters about this movement that shaped Sweden’s modern history in general and Kronoberg, a region historically affected by it.
17.10: Check-in at the hotel
18:30:
Activities in nature & Barbeque: (Or Yoga & movie night.)
- At the end of the day (if good weather) we are going (walking) to head towards the Bokhultet, a natural reserve area in Växjö close to Globalas office where we are going to play some games in connection to the area’s fauna and the environmental work in Sweden. Afterwards we are going to conclude the day with a barbeque and the participants will have the chance to get to know each other a little bit better. To finish off the first day we will play some traditional Swedish games like Kubb or Brännboll.
- In case of bad weather, we will instead of going out into the nature reserve be hosting a yoga session in Mästeriet and end the day with a movie evening viewing a Swedish movie. The dinner will then also take place inside Mästeritet.
