"The goal with my time here was to try myself out, go on a great adventure, getting to know other cultures and in the end to get a job here. I managed almost everything. It was a great challenge to try myself out abroad, and it was very nice to meet people from other countries and getting to know their cultures."
- Zsuzsanna, volunteer at Funkibator
Youth with fewer opportunities
In Globala Kronoberg, it has always been a goal to focus our work on supporting young people with fewer opportunities in our region. We do this by giving out information about ESC (European Solidarity Corps), supporting the youngsters in creating their applications and organizing an individual and proper preparation before the project starts.

We focus on two groups of youngsters.
Mehdi, an ESC volunteer at Globala Kronoberg, explaining how ESC works and what opportunities it brings to young people in Europe.
First, youngsters with economical difficulties, i. e. unemployed youngsters for whom it might be more difficult to travel and get to know other cultures. For those youngsters, the international experiences such as ESC or Youth exchanges are extremely important, not only for the competences and new skills that those projects provide, but also for the self-discovery and self confidence they gain. In order to reach this target group we have local partners such as the Employment office and municipality departments with which we cooperate.

At the same time, we try to create partnerships with organisations abroad that host and send youngsters with physical disabilities within ESC. We work together with Funkibator, a local sister association, and since 2012 we have hosted two volunteers with physical disabilities, sent three volunteers abroad and also organized two youth exchanges with focus on youngsters with disabilities. And in 2019 we were part of Funkibator's summer camp with participants with disabilities that was focused on VR and new technologies.

If your association works with youngsters with fewer opportunities and is looking for partnerships, please contact us! We can create something together that will make a change!
